In the summer of 2017 I was given the opportunity to attend a course at UAF on climate change. The link to the course is embedded below.
I teach science and feel climate change is the best way we can apply topics in science to the world. This course helped me to engage in continuous learning to deepen professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions in organizational change and leadership, project management, and adult learning to improve professional practice. Due to this course, I feel that I was able to communicate with others in my discipline as well as others in different grade levels and disciplines. Through this communication I gained knowledge of content and teaching practice that will help me better communicate with students, colleagues, and supervisors. As I go back to teaching this fall I will be working on implementing some of the protocols we learned in this course. Throughout this I will have access to so many AWESOME educators as support as well as the AWESOME faculty at UAF. This course gave me an instant connection to others that will allow me to further participate in and contribute to the teaching profession.
